Crest Services Empowers Adults
Crest Services provides residential services for adults with mental retardation or developmental disabilities.
Two program options are available:
- Group Living: facilities and homes where daily staffing, up to 24 hours, is available.
- Independent Living: visiting staff serving individuals residing in their own home or apartment.
Group Living
Group Living consists of:
- Licensed Residential Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (RCFs/MR), 5 to 15 bed facilities.
- Certified Supported Community Living (SCL) 3 and 4 person homes under the federal Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver.
Services are provided through direct care staffing patterns that allow persons needing more assistance to remain in their community. Staffing may be up to 24 hours per day.
Independent Living
The Independent Living program offers certified programs such as Community Supported Living (CSL) – Chapter 24 in Iowa, Semi-Independent Living Situations (SILS) in Minnesota, and again under the SCL of the HCBS waiver.
These programs are for persons with developmental disabilities who are able to live semi-independently in the community with support services. Training and assistance are offered by visiting counselors to enable the consumer to learn and maintain living skills and promote personal growth.
