Assisted Living?
Assisted living is for those who require more help with the activities of daily living, but do not need nursing care. Friendly, trained staff members are available 24 hours a day to help with meals, dressing, personal hygiene and medications. top

1. Do you have to be Baptist to live at an ABHM senior living community?
ABHM is an equal housing opportunity organization. All of our communities are non-sectarian and non-discriminatory, and are enjoyed by all individuals regardless of faith or personal convictions. top
2. How much does it cost to live at an ABHM community?
Methods of payment vary among the ABHM communities. You may choose a community that has a Rental Fee option where you simply pay monthly rent and never pay an Entrance Fee. Or you may choose to pay an Entrance Fee/Monthly Fee combination, thereby reducing the amount that is owed each month. top
3. What will Medicare pay for?
"Under certain limited conditions, Medicare will pay some nursing home costs for Medicare beneficiaries who require skilled nursing or rehabilitation services. To be covered, you must receive the services from a Medicare certified skilled nursing home after a qualifying hospital stay. (Excerpt from Medicare Web site.)" top
4. What services and amenities are included in my monthly fees?
Covering a wide range of amenities and services, the monthly fee pays for your prorated share of the community's actual operating expenses. Such services may include housekeeping, utilities, meals, maintenance, scheduled transportation, wellness and social activities. top
5. Will my monthly fees change?
Because the monthly fee is related to the services offered, it will vary according to your level of care, unit size and number of people living in the apartment. The monthly fee will also vary according to changes in the economy as a whole. For example, when the costs of labor and service change, the monthly fee will be adjusted. The Care and Residency Agreement spells out in detail the procedures by which the monthly fee can be changed. It is our intention to adjust the monthly fee once annually, as needed. top
6. Can I keep my own doctor?
Yes. In fact, we insist on a strong, continuing relationship between our residents and their physicians. If, after moving to one of our communities, your personal physician is not conveniently located and not able to provide you with the necessary services should you need nursing care, we can assist you in selecting a physician who will meet your needs. top
7. Is transportation available?
Scheduled transportation is a courtesy available for residents at most communities including transportation for Physician visits, dental visits, shopping trips and outings. Some communities have vehicles with lifts to accommodate residents with wheelchairs. top
8. How old do I have to be to live at an ABHM community?
ABHM communities provide care and accommodations to all persons regardless of age, race or gender. Refer to the individual communities to learn details of the retirement lifestyle offered. top
9. What might a typical daily menu include?
